Helping Patients Navigate
Weight-loss

MiWeigh is a study to better help patients prevent, manage, or reverse obesity-related chronic conditions.

Welcome to the MiWeigh Study

A healthcare professional, likely a doctor, standing next to a patient on a weigh-in scale. The professional is pointing to a checklist on a large clipboard with checkmarks. Icons surrounding them include a grocery basket, medication bottles, pills and syringe, and a stomach with a spoon, indicating health and medical assessments.

The Michigan Weight Navigation Program Study, or the MiWeigh Study for short, is designed to evaluate two approaches to helping patients lose weight.

Everyone who joins the study will receive information on weight-loss treatment options. Some participants will be randomly chosen to receive additional support, including an hour-long virtual visit with a Michigan Medicine physician trained in obesity medicine.

These participants will not be required to follow a specific plan. Rather, they will work with the doctor to determine what would be the best approach for them.
