Helping Patients Navigate
Weight-loss

MiWeigh is a study to better help patients prevent, manage, or reverse obesity-related chronic conditions.

Welcome to the MiWeigh Study

A healthcare professional, likely a doctor, standing next to a patient on a weigh-in scale. The professional is pointing to a checklist on a large clipboard with checkmarks. Icons surrounding them include a grocery basket, medication bottles, pills and syringe, and a stomach with a spoon, indicating health and medical assessments.

The Michigan Weight Navigation Program Study, or the MiWeigh Study for short is to determine whether people who participate in the MiWeigh Program lose more weight than people who receive information about weight loss strategies and programs to lose weight.

Everyone who joins the study will receive information on weight-loss treatment options and some general tips and apps that may be helpful for weight management. Some participants will be randomly chosen to have an hour-long virtual visit with a Michigan Medicine physician trained in obesity medicine.

Participants will not be required to follow a specific plan. Rather, they will work with the doctor to determine what would be the best approach for them.
